Motorhome List Terms of Use

The Motorhome List generally runs well and with plenty of goodwill, however as with any forum it is useful to have some ground rules so that things run smoothly.

Please take a moment to review the Terms of Use of the Motorhome List, use of the Motorhome List implies your approval and acceptance of these Terms.

The Motorhome-list is for the discussion of issues relating to motorhome ownership & use and allied topics of interest to motorhome users. The occasional drift of a subject into an off topic area, or the occasional anecdotal or informational message is to be expected. However, the List Owner, or a moderator, may occasionally deem it necessary to call for a particular subject to be closed, or taken to the Off Topic group at It is expected that members will comply with such a request.

There are a few topics which are permanently excluded from discussion on Motorhome List, due to past difficulties, among these are Politics, Religion, and Computer Operating Systems.

The 'Off-topic' group has been started by a Motorhome-List member to cater for those members who want a chat or off-topic forum whilst still having the common bond of motorhome ownership, you are encouraged to join, as it complements the Motorhome List. It is however a separate entity, the Owner and Moderators of Motorhome-List have no connection with it. You can join at:

We* are not responsible for any messages posted, do not vouch for or warrant the accuracy, completeness or usefulness of any message, and are not responsible for the contents of any message. In particular, any technical information, or advice, whilst it may be given with the best of intention, should be checked with a competent person.

(* 'We' in this document means the List Owner, or anyone associated with the operation of the Motorhome List )

Messages express the views of their authors, not necessarily the views of the List Owner or anyone associated with the operation of the Motorhome List.

Members agree that they will not post, or send directly to any member, any material which is knowingly false, defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise objectionable or in violation of any law.

Members must not post, send, or upload, any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by them, or they have obtained permission from the copyright owner in which case this must be indicated.

Any member who feels that a posted message is objectionable is requested not to post a reply, but to to contact the List owner by email. We have the ability to remove objectionable messages from the Yahoogroups website and we will make every effort to do so, if requested, within a reasonable time frame, if we determine that removal is necessary.

The Motorhome List may not be used to advertise any products or services, with the following exceptions only:

1) For members who are traders, company details, in a signature not exceeding four lines, may be added to messages, and may be appropriate in order that members are aware of a poster's trade status.
2) A trader may post a response to a specific enquiry, from a member not connected with the trader, to the effect that the trader is able to provide the goods or services enquired about, and inviting the original enquirer to contact them, by private email, phone or via a website url, for further details. All further discussion, or enquiries concerning the trading arrangement, must be conducted off-list.

Offers for sale and direct requests to buy motorhomes and related equipment are allowed from private individuals, but must not be posted more than once per month.

Recommendations, from members, of a particular trader who has provided a good service, or who supplies a good product, are allowed, providing that the individual is not connected with the trader (except as a customer) and will not gain materially or financially from the recommendation.

Links to relevant external information source are welcome, provided that they comply with the above rules on advertising.

As an anti-virus/malware precaution the posting of binaries or other encoded data files (pictures for example) and attachments is not permitted, they will be removed. Such files may however be offered to the list owner for inclusion in the list web site if appropriate, or uploaded to the Files area of the Motorhome-List section of Yahoogroups:

All postings to the Motorhome List must be in plain text, HTML and other forms of formatting markup are not permitted and will be removed.

Posters to the Motorhome List are recommended to follow the long established guidelines for mailing list and newsgroup postings, by answering messages by placing replies below an appropriately edited copy of the original message.

Signatures, if used, must be 4 lines or less. It is useful to place a -- (dash dash space) on the line before your signature, all 'standards compliant' mail programs strip off anything following this when replying to messages, thus making for less clutter in quoted text.

Members must avoid including large amounts of text from previous messages when replying, and those receiving the Digest version of the List must be particularly careful not to include the complete Digest in their replies.

New members may have their messages moderated for a short period, otherwise the group is not generally moderated. However, any member flouting these Terms of Use, may, at the discretion of the List Owner or a moderator, have their messages moderated, be suspended from posting to the List, or be removed from the List, without notice.

The author of a message retains its copyright, messages from this list may not be quoted, in whole or part, anywhere else without the author's permission, and quoting The Motorhome List as the original source.

Any questions about the operation of the Motorhome List, or concerns about the content of any message posted to the List, should be addressed to the Motorhome List Owner
